A World Without Google? [infographic] | Internet Marketing Orlando News

Last updated 5 years ago

Google's new privacy policy changes and privacy issues surrounding Google+ are making some people desire a previous time when, as Devon Glenn states, "was more about finding than being found."

Over the past two weeks multiple websites like Wikipedia and Reddit have temporarily shut down their sites to protect the anti-piracy bill SOPA and like Glenn, I too had wondered what would happen if Google shut down. The world most likely would not have erupted into chaos and rioting in the streets but I'm betting there would have been some pandemonium.

Think about how often you use Google on a daily basis. And not for general searches but also Google mail, documents, maps, analytics and image search.

For me, considering my job revolves around advertising on Google, would be insane pandemonium. Not to mention how much I  rely on Google Maps to get me places and image search for images for my blog posts.

How would you suffer without Google?

How do you feel about Google's new changes and how they affect not only your search results but your privacy.

The infographic below illustrates all that is Google and what the alternatives would be if it went away. Would you want to live in a world without Google?
